(One of multiple dispositions on this case)
Disposition Interim suspension until further order of the Court
Effective Date of Disposition 06/19/2019
End Date of Disposition 11/13/2020
Definition of Disposition An interim suspension reflects the determination of the Supreme Court that a lawyer should be suspended from the practice of law. In imposing interim suspension, the Court orders that the lawyer be suspended until further order of the Court and may impose such conditions as the Court deems necessary. The lawyer is not authorized to practice law during the period of the interim suspension. The Court may terminate the interim suspension upon imposition of final discipline or under other circumstances as the Supreme Court deems just.
Case Summary Mr. Brodsky, who was licensed in 1982, was suspended on an interim basis and until further order of the Court. Mr. Brodsky is the subject of a three-count disciplinary complaint based, in part, on Mr. Brodsky’s allegedly disruptive behavior in a federal lawsuit, for which he was sanctioned in the amount of $50,000 and subsequently placed on a suspension by the Executive Committee for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The ARDC disciplinary complaint also alleges that Mr. Brodsky revealed information relating to the representation of clients on two occasions.

(One of multiple dispositions on this case)
Disposition Suspension for a specified period of time and until further order of the Court
Effective Date of Disposition 06/19/2019
End Date of Disposition
Definition of Disposition A suspension until further order of the Court reflects a determination that the lawyer has engaged in misconduct and that the misconduct warrants an interruption of the lawyer's authority to practice law during the suspension period, which is a fixed period of time identified in the Supreme Court's order and until the lawyer has demonstrated rehabilitation, good character, and current knowledge of the law in a subsequent reinstatement case. The lawyer is not authorized to practice law during the period of the suspension.
Case Summary Mr. Brodsky, who was licensed in 1982, was suspended for two years and until further order of the Court, retroactive to June 19, 2019, the date of his interim suspension based on the same misconduct. While representing an automobile dealer who had been sued for selling a defective car, Mr. Brodsky repeatedly made baseless, vitriolic claims against the plaintiff’s attorney and expert witness. In a patent infringement case, Mr. Brodsky failed to withdraw after being discharged by his client and then revealed in a pleading confidential information about the identity of an entity funding the litigation. He also, while representing a party in a divorce action, sent an e-mail to various persons disparaging the mental health and character of his client’s spouse.
