Disposition Suspension with condition(s)
Effective Date of Disposition 05/20/2013
End Date of Disposition 08/09/2013 Condition(s) satisfied.
Definition of Disposition A suspension with conditions reflects a determination that the lawyer has engaged in misconduct and that the misconduct warrants both an interruption of the lawyer's authority to practice law during the suspension period, and the imposition of conditions with which the lawyer must comply. The suspension may be for a fixed period of time or for a fixed period of time and until the lawyer complies with the conditions. The lawyer is not authorized to practice law during the period of the suspension.
Case Summary Ms. Leyh was licensed in Illinois in 1989 and in Arizona in 1996. She was suspended in Arizona for six months, and placed on probation for two years following the conclusion of her suspension, for engaging in a conflict of interest with a client with whom she had an intimate relationship. She also submitted a false and misleading pleading to a court on behalf of that client and later acted in contravention of a criminal court order regarding where her client should live. The Supreme Court of Illinois imposed reciprocal discipline and suspended her for six months and until she is reinstated in Arizona, followed by a period of probation until she successfully completes the probation imposed in Arizona.

Disposition Censure
Effective Date of Disposition 09/17/2008
End Date of Disposition Not Applicable. Censures and reprimands do not affect the authority of the lawyer to continue to practice law.
Definition of Disposition A censure reflects a determination that the lawyer has engaged in misconduct, but that the violation is not so serious to warrant a sanction that would affect the lawyer’s authority to continue to practice law. As a result, censure does not affect the authority of a lawyer to continue to practice law.
Case Summary Ms. Leyh was licensed in Illinois in 1989 and in Arizona in 1996. She was censured in Arizona for creating a ruse in order to serve trial subpoenas on two different witnesses, whom she had been unable to locate but who attended a social event where she was able to encounter and detain them long enough to have them served. Illinois imposed reciprocal discipline and censured her.
