Case Summary Mr. Ellis was licensed in Illinois in 1986 and in Washington, D.C. in 1990. He was suspended in Washington D.C. for a period of 120 days. He filed a notice of appeal on behalf of a criminal defendant, but thereafter did not file an appellate brief on the client's behalf despite repeated extensions of time within which to do so. The Supreme Court of Illinois imposed reciprocal discipline and suspended him in Illinois for 120 days. The suspension is effective on April 5, 2013.
