Case Summary Mr. Hyman, who was licensed in 1976, was suspended for thirty days. He failed appear at a status hearing in a client’s personal injury matter, which resulted in the case being dismissed. He did not reinstate the case. Instead, he concealed his neglect by misleading his client into believing the case was still pending, falsely representing to his client that the other side had made a settlement offer, fabricating phony settlement documents, falsely representing he was waiving his fee, and representing he would pay the outstanding medical lien and then attempting to limit his liability by delaying payment. The suspension is effective on October 13, 2015.
