Case Summary Mr. Baril, who was licensed in 1997, was suspended for two years. He converted funds owed to another attorney, represented a client when that representation was adverse to his duties to another client, communicated directly with a party represented by an attorney, and knowingly made false statement of material fact to a tribunal. Finally, he was visiting incarcerated clients at the Dwight Correctional Center when prison guards were searching cars in the prison parking lot. A narcotics-sniffing dog found three-tenths of a gram of marijuana in his automobile. He eventually pled guilty to possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana and was sentenced to supervision.
